Sonora, CA…On 9/1/15 about 1:00 A.M. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a Ford F150 Truck on Mono Way near the Junction Shopping Center. The basis for the stop was for equipment violations on the truck. The Deputies contacted, 59 year old, Arthur Boyd Weaver, who was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop our K9 Justice walked around the exterior of the truck. K9 Justice alerted to possible narcotics inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was done. A loaded 22 rifle, two digital scales, 15.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine , 575.00 dollars in cash, and paraphernalia for smoking methamphetamine were located inside the passenger compartment of the truck. A records check indicated Weaver had a previous felony conviction and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The methamphetamine had a street value of 1500.00 dollars ( fifteen hundred dollars).
Weaver was taken into custody and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for the above listed charges. Bail was set at 25,000 dollars (twenty five thousand dollars). Weaver was able to meet the bail requirement and was released from custody pending his court date.
