Girlfriend is the Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week. Meet Girlfriend, an American Staffordshire mix estimated to be about six years of age and weighing in at a sturdy 70 pounds. “Staffies” are rock-solid, clever and brave, pouring a gallon of dog into a quart-size container. Though strong, this lovely lady walks well on a leash and listens attentively. She is quiet in her kennel and will sit for treats. Girlfriend came to us with Sprite, a smallish male whom she adored but prefers to be in charge and the only dog (unless a submissive male like her pal, Sprite). Girlfriend does, however, love to spend time with volunteers and very much enjoys all handling and snuggles. She may also be housebroken since she keeps her kennel clean.

As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal, Girlfriend is micro-chipped and up-to-date on her routine vaccinations. She will need to be spayed before going home with you.

Come visit Girlfriend, impound no. AO50684 along with other dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
