Driver Injured in Major Injury Collision on Hwy 49 Was Missing Person From Nevada

Tuttletown, CA…On March 12, 2020 just before 6:00pm, Radisha Nichiporuk, a 91-year-old resident from Gardnerville, NV was driving his 2000 Honda Accord southbound on State Route 49, just south of Jackass Hill Road at approximately 45 mph. Mr. Nichiporuk approached a curve in the roadway and was unable to negotiate it. He traveled straight through the curve and into a pasture where the front of his vehicle collided with a dirt and grass embankment. Mr. Nichiporuk was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.

He was transported by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. During this investigation, Officers learned that Mr. Nichiporuk was recently reported as being a missing person out of Douglas County, Nevada. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was notified at approximately 9:30pm regarding the location of Mr. Nichiporuk. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was able to contact his family and notify them of his location and condition.

CHP Officers notified the hospital staff that he was reported as a missing person and his family was traveling there to be with him.
