San Andreas, CA…A Mokelumne Hill man was driving his Nissan westbound on State Route 12, east of Double Springs Road at approximately 45 mph in hail and heavy rain. A Valley Springs woman was driving her Buick eastbound on State Route 12, east of Double Springs Road at approximately 40 mph in hail and heavy rain. The driver of the Nissan allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway and enter the north shoulder. He over-corrected back to the left and crossed over the solid yellow lines and entered into the eastbound lane directly in the path of the Buick. Consequently, the front end of the Nissan collided with the front end of the Buick. After the collision, all Parties remained on scene for emergency personnel.

Two juvenile passengers, aged 10 and 3, in Vehicle 2 were transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of minor injuries.

Drugs and/or Alcohol are not considered a factor in this collision.
