Murphys, CA…On September 4th at approximately 1:55pm a 74 year old Fair Oaks woman was driving her 2012 Toyota RAV4 eastbound eastbound near upper Upper Utica Powerhouse Road. She allowed her Toyota to veer left from the eastbound lane of Hwy 4, cross the double yellow lines and into the oncoming westbound lane. She traveled directly into the path of a 34 year old Stockton woman driving a 2013 Honda. The front of the Toyota collided with the front of the Honda causing major damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Toyota and the driver and passenger in the Honda sustained major injuries. Those in the Honda were flown to Memorial Medical Center and the driver of the Toyota was flown to Doctors Medical Center. Both hospitals are in Modesto.

The accident snarled traffic on Hwy 4 for over an hour and school buses from Vallecito Unified School District were delayed.
