Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Office…”On Monday morning, just before 1 am, deputies were patrolling the area of Crystal Falls Drive near Feather River Drive in Sonora when they saw a man riding a bicycle in the shadows of residential yards. The man, later identified as 22-year-old Austin Lassa of Sonora, was wearing dark clothing and carrying a pair of dark colored gloves, a black ski mask, and a black back pack.

Deputies determined Austin was on felony probation. A search of Austin and his house uncovered burglary tools, stolen property, and drug paraphernalia. When deputies attempted to place Austin into handcuffs, he refused orders and attempted to pull away but was unsuccessful.

Austin was ultimately arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation, and resisting arrest. Deputies took possession of the stolen property and are currently investigating whether Austin is connected to several recent burglaries in Tuolumne County.”
