Cindy L. Thomas, DNP, FNP-C, joins Health Pavilion Primary Care Medical Office

Sonora, CA…Board-certified family nurse practitioner Cindy L. Thomas, DNP, FNP-C, has joined the primary care team at Adventist Health Sonora’s Health Pavilion Primary Care Medical Office. With a strong focus on caring for those with chronic and acute conditions, Thomas sees patients with hypertension, obesity, asthma and more. She also provides primary care for adults and children, including wellness checks and physicals, women’s health and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries.

Thomas cares for patients from a holistic perspective, which encompasses their physical, mental and spiritual health. “I want to reduce, prevent or reverse chronic illness by integrating healthy lifestyles into the medical regimen,” she says. “I love establishing relationships with patients, educating them and optimizing their health.”

“I integrate evidence-based practices in patient care,” Thomas continues. “I want my patients to know the medications they are taking, the therapies that are ordered and the rationale behind them.”

Thomas earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Thomas enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, and her interests include exercising, bike riding and weight training.
