Mokelumne Hill, CA…At Central Fire & Rescue, 10 of our department personnel lost their homes in the Butte fire so we have established a donation website at www.centralcalaverasfirefightersassoc.org to help them . While over 500 homes were lost, thousands were saved and we need the help of the more fortunate to show the community’s support and gratitude to the ones who’ve helped save so many. Calaveras Fire & Rescue is the principal fire agency in the areas most affected; Glencoe, Railroad Flat, Mountain Ranch and Sheep Ranch and is the area’s only full time fire department.

I have a king size bed with a Dux mattress which I would like to see go to one of your firefighters who lost their home while fighting to preserve the homes of others. It comes complete with bedding. My only problem is that I am moving very soon so I would have to have it picked up. It also would help if somebody who is good at electronics could work on it as it is supposed to have an approximately 40 inch flat screen TV which comes up out of the foot board. The wires were cut when it was removed from the home it was previously in and I have not had anyone to fix it. It is very heavy and would take several people to move it. The headboard and footboard are made of solid wood. I am told that the dot-com millionaire who had it made paid approximately 16 thousand for the frame, another 8 thousand for the mattress and about 6 thousand to have the TV built in. You can contact me at (209) 772-1159 regarding this bed.
