Bear Valley, CA…I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Schimke to the position of Director of Operations for Skyline Bear Valley Resort, effective August 24th , 2020. Tim will be responsible for the day to day operations of both the mountain and village components of the resort, while reporting directly to me. Tim has been an integral piece of the Bear Valley community since he was born. His grandfather, Harry Schimke, was an original founder/developer of the resort. His father, Robert (Bob) Schimke, was the Director of Skiing here throughout most of Tim’s life. Tim (Timmy) grew up skiing on the BV race team. He was then a ski instructor and race coach and also operated snow cats part time through college.

After an 8 year career in the Water Treatment Industry, Tim returned to his roots to work for Bear Valley Mountain back in 2015. He progressed his way through the company by managing the departments responsible for snow surface conditions (slope grooming, terrain parks and snow making) and then in 2018 was promoted to Director of Mountain Operations. As Director of Mountain Operations Tim was responsible for the vehicle and lift maintenance departments, snowmaking, grooming and outside operations. Being promoted to Director of Operations (property leader) is a natural stepping stone for one of Bear Valley’s favorite locals.

Throughout these challenging past five months, Tim’s leadership and dedication to the Bear Valley Resort business and the community in which he serves has been his u t most priority. We are confident that under Tim’s leadership, and together as a team we will continue to drive the business forward and create an enjoyable and safe experience for all of our employees and guests Tim is looking forward to a snowy and prosperous 2020/2021 season.
