San Andreas, CA…Inspectors from many different agencies and companies may be encountered in Calaveras and Lake Counties. Inspectors are there to assist in recovery from the wildfires or to assess future prevention measures. • FEMA Direct Housing Operation (DHOP) Inspectors:
o FEMA has authorized temporary use of FEMA-owned manufactured housing units (MHU) for eligible applicants where no alternative temporary housing or lodging is available.
o They make appointments and inspect the property of eligible applicants to determine feasibility of the site for placement of a unit on their property.
o They carry FEMA photo identification.
• U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Inspectors:
o Uniformed members of the Army Corps of Engineers are tasked with inspecting potential sites for MHU commercial sites.
