Burglary Suspect Arrested After He Sets His Shirt & Field On Fire

Angels Camp, CA….On 12/06/15 at about 1500 hours, Sheriff Deputies were conducting follow-up on a burglary that was reported the previous day, when they received information that an alleged suspect, Joseph Alonzo Bleak, (02/12/87) was in the Angels Camp area. Deputies located Joseph Bleak in the Middleton’s shopping area. Bleak noticed an Angels Camp Police Officer pull into the parking area, so he entered a nearby store. When he did not exit, Deputies entered the store in attempt to locate the suspect who had climbed onto the roof of the shopping center to avoid apprehension. Bleak then set his shirt on fire and threw his engulfed shirt in an empty field, starting a small vegetation fire. He began to run away from the fire along the rooftop and jumped off the single story building. ACPD Officers and Deputies were able to catch up and arrested Bleak.
