Las Vegas, NV… On Thursday, November 17, 2022, Dickey Ray Fortenberry, loving husband, father and brother passed away at the age of 74. He was born on July 21, 1948 in Las Vegas, NV the fourth child to Theron Ted and Hester Vanita (Trammel) Fortenberry. He worked as a laborer in construction and also was a rancher on a chicken farm. Dickey loved to imitate Gene Vincent and Elvis Presley and tell silly jokes. He was liked by all and was always happy to make you laugh. His laughter was infectious.

Dickey was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Carol Lynelle Munoz. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Lana Knowles, and their two sons Cody Wayne Fortenberry and Theron Michael Fortenberry. A son and daughter by previous relationships, Vince Fortenberry and Patricia Fortenberry, his brother Theron Wayne Fortenberry, and three sisters La Donna Faye Fortenberry, Kathy Fortenberry and Paula Shepherd.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Lana has been Dickey’s sole caregiver. Not only has she lost her partner of 30 years, she will most likely have to move out of her home where they lived together for the past 20 plus years. Any donations will be to help her relocate if necessary and cover her living costs until she can make other arrangements.
