Murphys, CA…Joanne Jeffords died after an 18 month battle with kidney cancer on Feb. 22. She was 60. Joanne was born in Hollywood, California on Feb. 26, 1955. She and David A. Jeffords, her husband of 37 years, moved to Murphy’s in 2013. She was the Chief Nurse Executive at Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas.
Joanne received her nursing degree from San Jose State University and Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of San Francisco. For 36 years, Joanne was a passionate leader who advocated for excellence in patient care. Among her many achievements, Joanne founded the Transformational Care and Performance Excellence program at Dignity Health and was awarded the Disruptive Change Leader. She enjoyed entertaining, being surrounded by friends and family, and serving her community through various organizations, activities and events.
Joanne is survived by her husband, David A. Jeffords and her children David T. Jeffords and Laura Jeffords Greenberg; sister Karen Kehoe and brother Robert Trygstad.
A memorial will be held at Ironstone Vineyards on Sat. March 5th at Ironstone Vineyards at 1:00pm. A smaller celebration of life will be held at a later date in the Bay Area.
There is a special place in heaven for nurses.

I knew Joanne from Halldale Avenue Elementary, and her smile has not changed. She was a wonderful friend in childhood, and clearly grew to be a wonderful person, period. I am truly sorry for the loss and sorrow your family must be going through, and offer my prayers.
