At last! An Authentic Irish Pub Comes To Main Street Murphys

Murphys, CA…For years, Murphys native, Jessica Bowman-Lindstrom has dreamed of opening a traditional Irish Pub in the heart of her hometown. This month her dream is finally coming true. After spending ten joyous years living in Europe, where she earned her MBA, Jessica recently returned to Murphys with her six-year-old son, Jasper. With an impressive career history in event planning and public relations for the Louvre Museum in Paris and the British government in London, the former Miss Calaveras County couldn’t be happier to bring an authentic bit of Europe to her hometown.

During her decade abroad, Miss Bowman-Lindstrom fell head over heels in love with Ireland, enjoying the Irish countryside, idyllic fishing villages and of course the cozy traditional Irish Pubs. She gained an appreciation for the culture, the shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash and properly poured Murphys Irish Stout. Jessica jokes that before moving to Europe in 2005 at the age of 22, her culinary abilities were limited to making ramen noodles. That all quickly changed when she discovered Europe’s fresh ingredients, local farmers markets. Cooking soon became her most treasured passion.

Murphys Irish Pub will open its doors on May 1st at 415 Main Street. The quintessentially traditional Irish menu boasts classic Irish dishes, locally sourced meat and organic vegetables, an array of Irish, foreign and domestic draught beers and 100% local wine. We can’t wait to check out Murphys newest and much welcomed addition!
