Ralph Selby June 4, 1949- October 1, 2023

Angels Camp, CA…Ralph Selby passed away in his home on the morning of October 1, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Ralph was born on June 4, 1949 in Modesto, California to Ray and Anada Selby. He grew up in Waterford, California and Graduated from Oakdale High School. Ralph started his career with CDF in 1965 at Arnold Station in Calaveras Country Ranger Unit, then promoted to Engineer in Tulare Ranger Unit. Ralph was then promoted to Fire Captain at Altaville Station then transferred to Baseline Camp. Ralph then worked at ECC in San Andreas until retirement. After his retirement in 2002, he went and worked for Columbia Air Attack until 2005.

Ralph left behind not only his family but his friendships to so many in our community. Ralphs sense of humor, sarcasm, and great personality was what he was known for. Ralph had an infectious smile and laugh. He truly was one of a kind and loved by so many.

Ralph is survived by his wife Julie Selby, Daughters; Annie (Selby) Kaiser and Jacob Kaiser of Copperopolis Ca, and daughter Kristi (Selby) Wozynski of Sonora Ca., sisters; Sharon (Selby) and Nick Self of Camp Connel, Ca., and Karen (Selby) Ron Watson of Amador. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Katie Saul of Murphys, Makenna and Kalob Kaiser of Copperopolis, Brett Woznski, and Josh and Jake Wozynski of Sonora, Ca. Along with many more wonderful family members and lifelong friendships that are grieving the loss of such a special person.

    Ralph was a great guy, loved talking with him, his humor was spot on. Rip Ralph you will be missed by many.
