Invitation to Observe the November 5, 2024, General Election Processes

San Andreas, CA…The Calaveras County Elections Department invites all members of the public, media, the Grand Jury, political party organizations, and anyone interested in the election process to observe all aspects of the upcoming November 5, 2024, General Election. Signature verification and counting will take place at Government Center, Building D, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd, San Andreas, in the Calaveras County Elections Department.

Logic and Accuracy testing of the ballot tabulation equipment will commence no earlier than September 27, 2024, and will continue until completed. Signature verification of vote by mail ballots will begin on October 7, 2024, and will continue until all signatures are verified. Vote by mail ballot results will be available shortly after 8pm on Election Day. In-person results will be available by 11pm Election Day. Vote by mail ballots received through the mail after the results are posted, postmarked on or before Election Day, will be processed the following day. This will continue through certification of the election.

The official canvass, including the random draw for the manual count, will commence no later than Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 9 a.m. in the Calaveras County Elections Department. Pursuant to California Elections Law, the Registrar of Voters has until December 5, 2024, to certify the election results.

Observers are welcome to view all phases of the election. The voting locations and hours of operations will be mailed to you and are available on the Elections Department website at elections.calaverasgov.us.
