Arnold, CA…On the heels of our most recent American Single Malt batch #3 release, we’re sharing insight about this age-old whiskey and the processes and ethos we employ when crafting our American Single Malt- Discovery edition.

To kick things off, we chatted with our assistant distiller, Keagan Randall, whose in-depth work producing single grain distillations has helped propel our young single malt program forward as we seek out our favorites and deliver signature characteristics in every batch.

“The strain of barley which we use has a massive domino effect on every subsequent stage right up to the final product,” says Keagan. “By utilizing local farms and a local malt house, and doing open-top fermentation in our very specific mountain environment, we’re developing a strong sense of terroir that is impossible to replicate. Ultimately, the whiskeys speak for themselves. Batch to batch, they taste very different yet collectively share distinctive attributes.”
