Clean California Gateway Monument Project Construction — Temporary Road Closures SR 12 West of Valley Springs and SR 12/26 East of Valley Springs 11/19/24 to 11/21/24 — 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Valley Springs, CA…Please be advised that beginning on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, through Thursday, November 21, 2024, there will be two construction zones with one-lane traffic controls in place near the community of Valley Springs.  Please allow for up to 15 minute delays and use alternate routes when possible.

As part of the Clean California Calaveras Gateway Monument Project, crews will be installing Valley Springs Gateway Monuments at the following locations:

On SR 12, approximately 0.5 miles east of Pine Street, Valley Springs.

On SR 12/26 approximately 0.2 miles west of Lime Creek Road, Valley Springs.

    Think those signs will make Valley Springs a more desireable place to visit

    These are tacky, unsightly and very cheaply constructed. They do not reflect the Historic Mother Lode at all, everything about them screams cheap and tacky. This was an insane HUGE waste of tax payer dollars. Take a look at the junky ones placed in Mokelumne Hill. These are not even acceptable for a trailer park in Stockton.

    It is to bad that the sign is so butt ugly, and that it is supposed to be welcoming to community and visitors and people passing through the beautiful location of Valley Springs
