Santa Cruz, CA…Law enforcement and Fire personnel have responded to multiple incidents around the county including the partial collapse of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf and water rescues near the Harbor and Capitola areas.
We are urging everyone to stay away from cliffs, the Santa Cruz Harbor, Santa Cruz Wharf, Capitola Wharf and other low-lying coastal areas. Please stay safe, and stay back while crews assess damage and work to keep everyone safe.

To be working on the pier in the winter with storms is ill advised. The engineers out on the pier when it broke away show they are negligent, ignoring common sense and caution . This was an economic consideration overruling any sense, they wanted the pier open for the Summer season.
