San Andreas, CA…Person arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and related charges in Wilseyville. On December 28th, 2024, at about 8:00 pm, Calaveras Sheriff Dispatch received a report of a person having been shot while inside a residence in the 4400 block of Easy Bird Way in Wilseyville (Calaveras County).
While Deputies were being dispatched to the incident, Sheriff Dispatch learned that a male victim had been shot in the hand and that the victim was still attempting to escort several other people out of the residence. At about 8:07 pm. Sheriff Dispatch was informed that everyone except the person suspected of firing the shot was out of the residence. The suspect was identified as Gerald Allgood, age 80, of Wilseyville.
Deputies arrived on the scene and escorted the victim to fire and medical personnel who were waiting at a nearby location. Additionally, a perimeter was established at the residence while Deputies attempted to make contact with Suspect Allgood. It had been reported that the suspect was still in possession of several firearms in the residence. At this time, Deputies were able to determine that the victim had received injuries to his hand when he had attempted to take the firearm away from the suspect due to the suspect pointing the firearm at others.
