Winter Storm Warning for Tomorrow & Up to 15 Inches of Snow at Higher Elevations

Arnold, CA….Soak in the sun today as a winter storm warning is in efffect from 7am to 10pm tomorrow. The National Weather Service says to expect windy, rainy & snowy conditions. Snow level will start at 6,000 and then drop to 4,500 ft elevation.

…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 10 PM PST FRIDAY FOR
ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5500 FEET…

* WHAT…Moderate to heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations
between 6 and 10 inches, with up to 15 inches at the highest
peaks. Southwest winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE…West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas
County/Lassen Park above 5500 feet, including Highway 50 and
Interstate 80.

* WHEN…From 7 AM to 10 PM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery and snow-covered road conditions.
Mountain travel delays and chain controls will be possible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening
commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow levels around 5500 to 6500 feet Friday
morning, lowering to around 4500 to 5500 feet in the afternoon.
Snow rates of around 1 to 2 inches per hour. Heaviest snow rates
for Interstate 80 and Highway 50 corridors will be in the
afternoon and early evening hours.
