San Andreas, CA…Meet Tweed (A058238), a male German Shepherd Dog mix, est. one year, 60 pounds. Tweed is a calm, gentle soul and a volunteer favorite. With his friendly demeanor and quick ability to bond, he’s sure to be a loving and loyal companion. Tweed enjoys walks and has excellent leash manners, making him a joy to take along on outdoor adventures. He’s eager to please, sitting politely for treats and taking them gently. Despite the noise and commotion of a kennel full of barking dogs, Tweed stays quiet and composed—a true testament to his easygoing nature. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is always ready to make new friends. Tweed’s kind heart and steady presence make him a wonderful addition to any home. All dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter are up to date on their routine vaccinations and will be microchipped. All unaltered dogs must be spayed or neutered before they can go home with you.

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
