Katherine Millier 1978 ~ 2024. Services Planned for May 10th

Murphys, CA…Katherine Millier February 12, 1978 ~ December 30, 2024 (age 46).  Katherine Elizabeth Millier, lovingly known as Kathy, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with illness. She was 46 years old.

Born on February 12, 1978, Kathy was the cherished daughter of Steve and Liz Millier. Kathy was known for her generous heart, kind nature, and fun-loving personality. Her sassy sense of humor, punctuated by her iconic laugh, brought joy to everyone she encountered. Kathy was a loyal friend who was always there for those she loved, and she took great pride in bringing people together.

Kathy’s passion for learning led her to study at the Culinary Department at Columbia College and Criminology at Modesto Junior College. Her academic pursuits reflected her diverse interests, and she carried the same dedication into every aspect of her life. Kathy worked as the tasting room manager at Black Sheep Winery, her family’s winery, where her charm and warmth made her a beloved figure to all who met her.

Her love for cooking was evident in the way she loved to share food and recipes, always ensuring that everyone felt welcome at her table. Kathy deeply cared for her family, especially her parents, and went above and beyond to take care of them with unwavering love and devotion.

Kathy had a true love for sports, particularly baseball, and was a devoted San Francisco Giants superfan. Her favorite players were Richie Aurelia and Brandon Crawford, and she could often be found passionately cheering them on. In addition to her love of baseball, Kathy was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan—much to the dismay of some of her family—and a huge fan of Sir Charles Barkley. She also followed Tony Stewart in NASCAR, keeping up with the sport’s thrilling moments.

She is survived by her parents, Steve and Liz Millier, her sister, Alissa Hodge (Jim), and her brother, Bob Millier (Jana), as well as her aunts: Susan Molumby, Mary Maro, Julie Keller, Theresa Heyburn, Ann Lane, Michelle Millier, Georgette Sterusky, and Earlene Millier, and her uncles: Phil Millier, Pete Millier, Chris Millier, and John Millier, along with 20 cousins. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Reece, and dog, Brodie.

Kathy’s presence in the world will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter will forever remain in our hearts.

It will be hard to find another heart as huge as Kathy’s. She will always be in mine.

Kathy was a hoot, she always made me laugh. We shared many conversations about food we loved and how she missed the curried chicken salad at Alchemy. I made a batch for her once and surprised her with it in the TR at Black Sheep, she was thrilled. I will miss her sweet face.

I will never forget Kathy coming in to the office at Michelson School and telling me, the school secretary, that I was her best friend. My condolences to the Millier family. She will be missed.
