Calaveras County Seeks the Community’s Call to Action at the January 30, 2025 California Public Utilities Commission Meeting for Broadband Funding

San Andreas, CA….High-speed, reliable, and affordable internet service is essential for modern life. However, many rural communities lack the proper level of internet service to participate in today’s economy. As a result, Calaveras County in collaboration with Golden State Connect Authority (GSCA)have partnered together to design a broadband fiber network that is ready to construct and includes key middle and last mile infrastructure that will serve our most vulnerable and disadvantaged areas. Calaveras County is at a crucial point in the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Federal Fund Account (FFA) Last Mile Broadband grant awarding process where we have once again been overlooked.

The county seeks the community’s Call to Action at the next CPUC meeting by encouraging Calaveras residents and business owners to participate in the public comment process on January 30th, 2025. We need our voices to be heard!
This may be Calaveras County’s last opportunity to be considered for this once in a lifetime grant funding opportunity and we need your help to let the CPUC Commissioners know. An overwhelming show of community and local government support for our pending grant application would significantly impact the Commissioner’s positions.
Calaveras County residents and business owners can either attend the meeting in-person or call in via phone to provide your support to Calaveras County GSCA application during the Public Comment period.

Public Comments are taken as the first item of business at the top of the Agenda.

Each person providing Public Comment only has 1 minutes to do so (one minute goes by very fast – you may want to write your comment and read it, rather than running out of time while composing your thoughts when
called upon).

Request that the Commission award the Calaveras County Federal funding Account Last Mile grant to Golden State Connect Authority in the Round 1 funding pool.

Mention that Golden State Connect Authority is a local government entity that will bring an open access, last mile, fiber network to California’s rural counties that will bring choice and competition to rural California, while ensuring that rural residents and businesses have access to future fiber opportunties.

Rural California including Calaveras County has been largely overlooked for broadband investment, historically.

Awarding Calaveras County the Golden State Connect Authority grant request will ensure a solid foundation on which the network can be expanded across rural California.

you forgot about no more $45,000,000 of rubbers to Gaza, and $11,000,000 to South America for transgender surgery and Draq Queen pageants, or the Ten’s of Millions for border walls for Iraq, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Serbia, Georgia, Angola, Kenya, Algeria, Somalia, Armenia, Paraguay and Jordan, federal grant records show. As the Biden administration spent millions securing foreign borders, federal authorities reported massive numbers of migrants crossing into the United States, alongside enough fentanyl to kill more than 100 million people.
It’s called America and her people first. Trump has temporary halted democrats wastefull spending, many of the American projects for AMERICA AND HER PEOPLE WILL BE RESUMING SHORTLY.
Thank God and the MILLIONS OF ONCE DEMOCRAT VOTERS in seeing that democrat politicians did NOT give a damn about them, they only care about themselves.
      Thank you President Trump

Trump has thrown the federal government into chaos thus endangering your services and benefits; he’s pardoned violent criminals; he’s announced tariffs that will raise your prices; and he’s done nothing to help you and your family.

Your ship sank when the entire world saw President Biden fail miserably in a one sided debate with President-elect Trump.
And here you are calling Trump supporters stupid? That’s rich, I hope you choke on your hatred of having President Trump’s success and who’s helping all Americans.
Enjoy the next 3 years 11 months and a few weeks.

^^^^3 of the first 5 posts above are written by brain dead zombies that would have made great citizens in Nazi Germany around 1935. Guess which ones. Just the kind of people Adolph enlisted in his “movement”. Sheep is what they are. Whats the only “movement” I see them being appropriate in today? The “movement” I just flushed down the toilet……………………….

    MAGA SUCKS COCKS FOR AMERICA!!!

Here’s hoping someone blows that bale of straw on the top of Trumps noggin AWAY. (with the rest of his head)

Great initiative! Supporting the Calaveras County broadband grant is crucial. Open access fiber will finally give rural areas the connectivity they deserve, leveling the playing field. It’s like finally unlocking all the ingredients in papa’s freezeria – suddenly, everyone can create amazing things! This grant will unlock California’s rural potential.
