3,000 Acres of Pile Burning Now Underway on Stanislaus National Forest

Sonora, CA…Firefighters with the Stanislaus National Forest will be burning piles across all three districts, please do not report as a wildfire. Of special consideration, Calaveras crews will be burning near homes in the Arnold/Avery area around White Pine Lake. In fiscal year 2025, Stanislaus National Forest crew have burned more than 3,000 acres of piles and will continue prescribed burning operations as long as weather and resource conditions allow.

    But, isn’t this going to warm the climate up? Can’t you use battery powered wood chippers instead?
