Angels Camp, CA…Steven Loucks May 29, 2009 ~ April 29, 2025 (age 15). Steven was born in Orange County, CA to an excited and loving mother, Deena Wetklow on Friday, May 29, 2009. Steven tragically passed away in a horrible accident the night of Monday, April 28, 2025. His short life was meaningful and had a huge impact on those around him.
Steven was Deena’s first born and the light of her eyes. The bond they shared as mother and son was special and cherished, and always will be. They had each other’s backs in the bad times, smiled and laughed through the good times, and loved each other in both regardless. If you had the opportunity of meeting Steven and spending time with him you would know the kind, loving soul that was inside of him.
He was a protective big brother, caring son, loving friend, and a person that brought a smile to your face no matter what kind of day you were having. He loved football, video games, spending time with his friends and family, and making memories with those he loved the most.
This loss has not only hit his family but the entire community as a whole. Steven moved to Calaveras County in 2021 and has since developed wonderful friendships with people in the community along the way. His loss is deeply felt and will leave a void in his family and community for years to come.
Steven was proceeded in death by his Grandma Jennifer and Grandpa Tim Wetklow, Papa Tom, Nana’s Wanda and Till, and many more Angels waiting to wrap him in their wings.
Steven leaves behind his loving parents Deena and Clinton Cookson, Sisters Kailyn, Mackena, Taylor, Nora, and Alyviah, Brothers Joseph, Kirby, and Jasper, Uncle Shannon, Grandma Sherry, Grandma Audrey, Grandma Vinny, Grandpa Dave, Auntie Stuffers, Uncle Scott, and many more friends, family, and loved ones who already miss him dearly.
