400 Acre Control Burn Underway Near Lake Camanche

Valley Springs, CA…CAL FIRE TCU will be assisting East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD) with a prescribed burn near South Camanche Parkway and Patterson Road, Burson in Calaveras County on Tuesday through Thursday, May 27-29, 2025.  The prescribed burn will consist of approximately 400 acres.
Burning will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m. contingent on weather and fire activity.
Firefighters will remain at scene until all hotspots are out.

    The Tards are quiet when it’s a controlled burn, my guess is if CDF starts it, then the smoke is less harmless! I didn’t know smoke from a uncontrolled burn is less toxic than a wildfire!
