Kennedy Meadows, CA…On Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at approximately 3:30 P.M., 18-year-old Devon Dotson of Sonora, CA was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Venture westbound on State Route 108, east of Kennedy Meadows Rd. at an undetermined speed. For an unknown reason, Mr. Dotson failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and the Chevrolet went down a 70-foot embankment.
The vehicle overturned during its decent. This crash caused major injuries to each of the passengers: A 45-year-old female (transported to Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, CA), a 9-year-old female (transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV) and a 9-year-old male (transported to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA). All of the passengers are from Sonora, CA.
The driver and the two juvenile passengers were wearing seatbelts and the adult passenger was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
This crash remains under investigation.
