Make Zoe Part of Your Family Today!

San Andreas, CA…Meet Zoe (A059518), a female German Shepherd/Queensland Heeler mix, about 2 years and 46 pounds.
Zoe came to the shelter after being found straying in Valley Springs. True to her working-dog heritage, she has a strong prey drive, so a home without livestock or poultry will be best. What she truly craves, though, is human connection. Once she warms up, Zoe leans in for affection, relishing scritches, cuddles, and even a good bath—where she quickly realized that suds came with soothing massages.

This intelligent young dog is eager to learn and thrives on both mental and physical activity. Heelers and Shepherds were bred to work, and Zoe is no exception—she’ll be happiest in a home that provides her with exercise, enrichment, and perhaps even a “job” to do. Despite her energy, Zoe shows a sweet, gentle side that volunteers have found very endearing. She was shy when she first arrived, but now she greets familiar people with warmth and loyalty.

Zoe gets along well with most other dogs at the shelter and may do well in a multi-dog household, though a meet-and-greet is always required. She keeps her kennel tidy and may be housetrained, though no guarantees can be made. While her past is uncertain, her future looks bright—she is ready to blossom into a devoted family companion.
