Soulsbyville, CA…Cindy Nunes Rochelle February 12, 1958 ~ September 13, 2025 (age 67). Cynthia Nunes Rochelle, lovingly known as Cindy, passed away surrounded by family and friends who cherished her vibrant spirit and generous heart. She was born on February 12, 1958, in Vallejo, California, and spent much of her life in Napa and Angels Camp, where she built lifelong friendships and left an enduring legacy of community service.
Cindy graduated from Napa High School and went on to study at Napa Cosmetology School and the Vidal Sassoon Academy for Hair. Her passion for beauty and creativity led her to own and operate The Salon in downtown Angels Camp, where she combined her artistry with her love for people. Under her leadership, The Salon became not only a place of business but also a cornerstone of the community.
She was known for her smile full of sunshine, her fun-loving personality, and her ability to make everyone in her salon chair feel like family. Being a hairdresser wasn’t just her job-it was her joy. She loved her clients dearly and cherished the friendships she built through the years.
Deeply devoted to giving back, Cindy was a proud member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West in Napa and Murphys, California. She supported education and youth programs through her work with the Bret Harte Elementary PTA, Bret Harte High School’s Grad Night, and by establishing scholarships for graduating seniors. She gave of her time and heart to many causes, including Relay for Life, Christmas Gifts for Homebound Seniors, and Interfaith in Sonora.
Her dedication and kindness were recognized by her community. Cindy received the Angels- Murphys Rotary Club Business of the Year award for her salon, earned recognition for the Best Decorated Christmas Window in Downtown Angels Camp, and was honored by Bret Harte High School for her scholarship contributions.
Beyond her community work, Cindy found joy in photography and crafting handmade cards for all occasions, which she shared generously. She loved to expand her knowledge of hair and to stay on top of all current trends. Above all, her greatest joy was her daughter Andrea and her grandson Cade, whom she cherished and was blessed to share the past four and a half years with.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Kathryn Nunes. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Rochelle Allison and son-in-law, William Allison; her beloved grandson, Cade Allison; her sisters Pamela Cooper of Coulterville, California, and Rebecca Wilkins of Cape Coral, Florida; along with extended family, countless friends, clients, and community members who will deeply miss her presence.
Cindy’s legacy is one of compassion, creativity, and unwavering love. She touched lives wherever she went, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
