Angels Camp, CA…(Frogtown, USA)..It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend, Dave Gallagher, after his courageous battle with cancer. Dave served as the Frog Spa Manager and was a dedicated advocate, educator, and all-around wonderful person.

“Dave holds a special place in Frog Jump history. He truly embodied the spirit of a Frog Jump volunteer. His years of involvement were always focused on making the experience better for participants, Frog Spa visitors, and the hundreds of students and community members we visited before the event began. He spent countless hours preparing the Frog Spa under the Main Stage for the hundreds of bullfrogs and thousands of guests who passed through. He also reminded us of the unique opportunity we share in being part of an American tradition recognized around the world,” said Bob Lema, fellow Frog Committee volunteer.
“Dave was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He and his wife Helen were always ready with a kind word, a smile, or a hug,” said Laurie Giannini, CEO/Fair Manager.
Each year on Grand Finals Sunday, the last day of the Frog Jump, Dave would look around the Frog Spa, smile, and remark that he wished the event could last just a little longer: “Because everything has settled into a pattern, and this is FUN!”
Dave’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy will forever be a part of Frog Jump history, and he will be deeply missed.
