Valley Springs, CA…Firefighters responded December 18th to two fires that were literally back-to-back. The first involved a chicken coop behind the home on Meagan Lane in Burson. 13 chickens perished in the fire. The second fire was on Melissa Lane off of Highway 26 in the subdivision of Rancho Calaveras in Valley Springs. The fire involved a metal outbuilding (shop).
Firefighters arrived on scene and encountered heavy fire conditions. Multiple Fire agencies responded to assist with fire suppression.
There are no hydrants in this area, and multiple water tenders were used to supply the fire engines.
Six vehicles were destroyed inside the shop. Most of them were collector cars, and one was in the movie The Fast and the Furious.
The building was a total loss.
There were no injuries to civilians and firefighters. The cause of both fires is under investigation.

Surprisingly strong consumer spending has the market high. As the Wall Street Journal reported, “The U.S. economy expanded at a 4.3% annual rate in the third quarter of 2025, its fastest pace in two years, driven largely by strong consumer spending, rising exports, and increased government outlays.”
Strong consumer spending significantly contributes to U.S. economic growth. It’s a very good sign.
