San Andreas, CA…Meet Moon (A059047), a neutered male Alaskan Husky mix, about 1 year old and 72 pounds. Moon is the kind of Husky who surprises people—in all the best ways. While the breed is famous for being vocal, energetic, and occasionally a bit dramatic, Moon is a gentler, quieter soul with an unshakably sweet nature. He has quickly become a volunteer favorite for his affectionate personality, soft expression, and joyful approach to life.
Moon loves people. If he could climb directly into your lap for cuddles, he absolutely would. His warm amber eyes and striking black-and-white markings give him a movie-star look, but it’s his big-hearted charm that wins everyone over. He greets new people with friendliness and enthusiasm, and he has been wonderfully polite and sociable with the dogs he’s met at the shelter. Playdates are his happy place—chase games, wrestling, splashing in water… he’s all in.
Moon is a certified pool enthusiast. He’ll hop right into the kiddie pool, plop down with a satisfied sigh, and look up at you like he’s enjoying a personal spa day. He walks nicely on leash for a young dog and sits sweetly for treats, taking them with a gentle mouth. Despite his youthful energy, he’s not reactive or over the top—he’s simply a cheerful, goofy, affectionate youngster ready to be someone’s best friend.
He keeps his kennel tidy and may housetrain quickly once he’s in a consistent home routine. Moon came to the shelter after not being properly contained, so a secure yard and an adopter prepared for a smart, athletic breed will help him thrive. With the right structure, enrichment, and love, Moon has all the makings of a truly wonderful companion—friendly, playful, gentle, and full of heart.
