Calaveras Consolidated Christens New Training Facility

Burson, CA…Firefighters christened our new training grounds in Burson this morning in front of our Fire District Board of Directors.

Screenshot

Our Fire District purchased modified steel shipping containers (ISO containers), 20 and 40-foot units, to build durable, cost-effective, and modular burn buildings for live fire training, simulating real structures with cutouts for doors/windows to practice search, rescue, ladder placement, hose handling, vertical ventilation, and fire behavior in a safe, controlled environment.

These containers are stacked and modified with interior stairwells and platforms.

The entire project was funded by exaction fees that are collected from contractors on new development in our Fire District.

Firefighters train because their lives depend on it, and the life we save may be yours.
