CDFW Rehabilitated Orphaned Bears Released in Calaveras County

Arnold, CA…Last month, CDFW returned two orphaned black bears to remote, wild habitat in Calaveras County. The two siblings, both males, were captured as cubs in Arnold in July and spent the previous five months or so in wildlife rehabilitation, first at the Ramona Wildlife Center in Southern California and then at Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue.

The two bears are part of a pilot study involving seven young, rehabbed bears released back into the wild this past fall – as opposed to the typical spring release – to minimize their time in captivity and association with people. The bears are outfitted with GPS collars to track their movements and ear tags for visual identification.

If you suspect orphaned bears in your area or cubs otherwise needing help, please do not feed them and contact your regional CDFW office as soon as possible: https://wildlife.ca.gov/Regions.

It would be wise to mandate bear-proof garbage vaults, as in the Lake Tahoe area. Bears’ access to garbage creates bad bears, who no longer live in the woods, searching for berries and grubs, and instead break into homes and cars.

What an amazing story! I recall the first time I saw a bear in the wild while hiking in Scratch Games Yosemite; it was both thrilling and sobering.

My observation of the above commentors follows.

The majority, but not all, are a bunch of dumb motherfuckers.
They are, again the majority, a bunch of brain dead Trump backers, obviously devoid of any independent ability to think in a coherent, remotely intelligent manner.

I would be willing to bet the majority of them have voted for Trump more than once.
I would also bet that the majority of them have little advanced education, work at dead end, low paying jobs, beat their wives, and kick their dogs.

Bitter individuals wondering where it all went wrong……………….
