Angels Camp, CA…Congratulations to newly appointed Angels Camp Police Chief Steve Poortinga who was sworn in this morning in front of the police department’s headquarters in Angels Camp. We at the Sheriff’s Office are already familiar with and have a good working relationship with Chief Poortinga from his many years of dedicated service in the city of Angels Camp and consistently backing up our deputies in times of need.
Calaveras County Sheriff Rachelle Whiting and members of our command staff were present at the ceremony this morning, congratulating Chief Poortinga on this remarkable achievement. We look forward to continuing the strong partnership between our agencies under Chief Poortinga’s leadership.

Yesterday, in Los Angles, AGAIN the Feds rolled in to town, scaring defenseless homeless people and immigrants, all for what? To try AGAIN to find illegal street drugs. Well they didn’t find some. They found 65 pounds of fentanyl, some illegal mexican cartels drug dealers with MS-13 gangbangers who have been supplying and terrorizing MacArthur Park’s Alvarado Street corridor, where the homeless drug addicts have taken over.
I hope you happy President Trump, now where will the homeless get their next fix before they start going batshit crazy with withdrawals? Yeah, thats right, their pain and suffering and puke is on your hands.
