Son’s of Softball vs Ardent

Our poor underdogs in our men’s league have once again been given another loss. These Ardent boys continue to come out and play. Eventhough they have yet to win a game this season they still have fun and enjoy themselves. They haven’t given up and are still hopeful they will bring home atleast 1 win. I just gotta say this team definitely has heart and grit in them. Never give up boys and never surrender!

Mike’s Pizza vs Dirtbags

Our league champs continue to show their dominance this season as they have shown pretty much every season. Some may feel they are just too high level of a team but what it all comes down to is this team has been playing together since they were in diapers. Its not just a team its a family. These champs may have changed names a time or two but what stays the same is their consistency. Mike’s Pizza took home another win to add to their list. I say to all the other teams out here you have a shot at defeating them….just try harder and dont give up.

I would also like to add to this by recognizing the pitching skills of alot of these men out here…

Henry Discosticky Hernandez aka Hendog (Dirtbags) pitched 7 strike outs in a row a couple weeks ago against Scott’s Distributing. Thats some good pitching right there.

Ralph Emerson (Scotts Distributing), brother of the late Mark Emerson who’s family helped build this amazing field this town has been blessed to have out here as well as named after (along side Mike Courtright), has been playing in this league the past 40+ years. His high pitching ability make it a challenge for alot of batters to hit off of causing strikes or possibly even hits off a bounce here and there. But the height of his pitches is a skill not many have however a few do come close like Justice Rasmussen (Mike’s Pizza).

Travis Molzen (Son’s of Softball) I’ve seen this guy pitch. Starting at the mound then covering 2nd base. This guy can do it all.

This season we are seeing some new guys taking up pitching roles such as Jeff Copeland (Trash Pandas) and Tomas Hardy (Ardent) have been making a name for themselves on the ballfield as well.

Thursday July 9th

With only one game being played that day for the women we had….

All the Smoke vs Sloppy Seconds

Sloppy Seconds are the underdogs in the women’s league this season. Still without a win this team is fun to watch. Havent been shut out yet and dont look like they intend to either. These ladies have a fire in them and I bet as soon as they find their rhythm teams better watch out.

All the Smoke borrowed Danie McDaniel from (Hit or Miss) who hit 2 back to back home runs (one of them turning out to be a grand slam) . She wasn’t the only one of the team to make some plays but boy oh boy watching them home runs sure we’re a sight to see.

Friday July 10th

Trash Pandas vs Scott’s Distributing

Broadcasting this game live for the first time this season. Trash Pandas showed up determined to take home the win from our Young Bucks. Sadly its been looking like Scott’s Distributing has been having alot of off nights. Started out in the league as the hungry young kids most straight out of High School are lookin a bit burnt out. I sure hope they find their grit on that field soon. Chin up boys…..you got this!

Dirtbags vs Son’s of Softball

Not much excitement in this game until we hit the bottom of the 6th inning where the Dirtbags were up 9 over the Son’s. The OG’s were up to bat. I turned on ACDC Thunderstruck on the speaker and that is when they started to make a comeback. Not enough though to take home the win but these OG’s sure put on a good show.

I highly recommend if you havent had a chance to come watch these teams play do so. Its a great time. Great atmosphere, great food being served up at our snack shack. Phoenix BBQ kills it with their amazing ribs, tri tips, pulled pork among other delicious plates.
