Washington, DC – Congressman McClintock voted AYE on the House Floor on HR 139 – The Sunshine Protection Act, and he issued the following vote note statement on the bill:
This bill ends the pointless time change that has plagued our country for more than a century, and makes Daylight Savings Time permanent.
I would much prefer to see us shift to Standard Time, which centers noon at the sun’s apex – thus avoiding driving to work or school in the dark during winter months. Daylight Time was once tried and abandoned for this reason.
But whether Daylight or Standard Time, getting rid of the annoying “spring ahead fall back” nonsense is a good thing.

Got to love the euphemisms the Republicans come up with.
“Sunshine protection” what a crock of shyte.
Department of Homeland Security . That’s a fascist phrase, which illuminates where the Republicans are coming from.
Defense Dept became Dept of War.
Big Beautiful Bill , which screwed most Americans and enriched the billionaires.
Always throwing out the words Liberty, Freedom, when they are taking them away, except for the corporations who now are unregulating free to poison us.
It is all so Orwellian. Especially the Big Brother spying on us, when they sue jail, kill those who use their right to protest.
