A Bit of Wisdom from the 1733 Poor Richard’s Almanac (American Dream Origins Day One)

Philadelphia, PA…Our Favorite Founding Father is Ben Franklin. He didn’t just help found our country during the 1776 era.   For two generations before he helped sell concepts of Freedom, Self-Determination & Inalienable rights. From 1733 to 1758 Poor Richards Almanac helped create the unique American identity in a homey, common sense, aspirational way. A few Bits of Wisdom from 1733…

As our Nation’s 250th Birthday starts to fade into a memory it a a good time to reflect on the idea that is the United States. Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness isn’t just some tagline or marketing gimmick. It cuts to the sole of who we all are. By almost every measurable metric our attainment of our founding Big Three has been getting less possible since 1957.

As the world gets frenzied by the latest AI bubble a reminder that what it actually takes to keep a person happy and healthy hasn’t changes since the founding of time. In fact the farther we get into the digital age it seems less & less utopian and more and more dystopian.

Now we see the rise of socialism again. If you look at history when you see the rise of socialism or whatever different name you want to call it. You see a direct correlation to the hopelessness and anger that a growing portion of the population feels that they cannot make it without someone helping them. Our middle class which used to be the bedrock of the American experiment is being decimated.

The rich are getting richer & those in the middle class are either getting richer or poorer. The happy middle class of the “normies” who just happily live their lives and raise their kids is dying and is some studies almost dead.

It’s time to go back to basics! Reset the American Dream & refocus on what made our country the greatest in the world and truly the city on a hill for the rest of the world to see. Washington DC, can’t help us & regardless of which party is in power it will probably just make things worse.

1733
Light purse, heavy heart.
He’s a Fool that makes his Doctor his Heir.
Hunger never saw bad bread.
Great Talkers, little Doers.
Fools make feasts and wise men eat ’em.
The poor have little, beggars none, the rich too much, enough not one.
Eat to live, and not live to eat.
The proof of gold is fire, the proof of woman, gold; the proof of man, a woman.
He that lies down with Dogs, shall rise up with fleas.
Distrust & caution are the parents of security.
He is ill cloth’d, who is bare of Virtue.
Nothing more like a Fool, than a drunken Man.
Innocence is its own Defence.

WTF is this ? the greatest period for the people was the FDR and after years. Largest middle class, social issues in race, women’s rights, a more equal society.
You can call it socialism, yes for the good of the many, not the few.
So now we are losing our liberties, rights, even Social Security, as the greedy few who can’t have enough of our hard earned lives in most all aspects.
The billionaires are parasites, this is better?

This statement shows it all, how unchristian, and a nod to the kleptocracy the few want.

    Jesus’s message was socialism.
    Try to deny that.
