Congratulations to Our New Area Commander!

San Andreas, CA…The California Highway Patrol San Andreas Area is proud to congratulate Lieutenant Rich Anglesey on his promotion to Commander of the CHP San Andreas Area Office.

Lieutenant Anglesey brings more than 17 years of statewide law enforcement experience to his new role. Throughout his career, he has served in patrol, as a Field Training Officer, and as a Drug Recognition Expert. He has also held specialized assignments with the San Mateo County Gang Task Force, the Mounted Patrol Unit, and as a Patrol Sergeant.

In addition to his field experience, Lieutenant Anglesey has served in several key administrative roles, including Academy Instructor, Critical Incident Response Team member, and Peer Support Program Coordinator.

Lieutenant Anglesey has been married for more than 20 years and is the proud father of three. His family is his greatest inspiration, and together they enjoy spending time outdoors, participating in sports, and traveling.

He looks forward to continuing to serve the communities of Calaveras County with dedication, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to public safety.
