Murphys, CA…Sidewalk construction will continue along Pennsylvania Gulch Road on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as part of the ongoing Pennsylvania Gulch Road Sidewalk Project in Murphys. Construction activity is scheduled to take place during daylight hours from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Traffic lanes along Pennsylvania Gulch Road may be impacted. Barricades, warning devices and/or flaggers will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zone. Sidewalk access will remain closed for the duration of construction.
The County appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as construction crews work to complete this important project.

The mistake in the engineering should have been discovered early in the project, not now when school is already in. This has caused a extra cost, first to put in the curbing etc then to remove it and finally to rebuild it and finish the job with all of that cost on the tax payers.
Oh quit crying, we’re getting it done this weekend. It’s not really our fault. We’ve never done sidewalks before, and our bosses thought it would be easy money.
