Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Swears in Police Academy Graduates

San Andreas, CA…Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office swears in new Police Academy Graduates along with Newly Hired and Recently Promoted Employees. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is proud to welcome three new deputies to our law enforcement team following yesterday’s graduation from the San Joaquin Delta College Police Academy. Deputies Dillon Autrey, AJ Cardon, and Anthony Flores graduated as members of Academy Class 63-26, marking the successful completion of more than 950 hours of rigorous academic, physical, and practical training over the past six months. During the graduation ceremony, all three Calaveras Deputies were recognized in an elite category for top physical fitness scores in this class.

Sheriff Rachelle Whiting congratulated the graduates and emphasized the responsibility that comes with wearing the badge: “The badge is a privilege, but more importantly, it is a responsibility. Wear it with pride, serve with integrity, and never forget the people who trust you to wear it.”

This morning, our three newest deputies joined several newly hired and recently promoted Sheriff’s Office employees in front of the Sheriff’s Headquarters in San Andreas for our Swearing-In and Affirmation of Office ceremony. We typically conduct swearing-in ceremonies in conjunction with the police academy graduations. As a core value for our agency, employee recognition plays a vital role in recognizing significant career achievements, fostering a sense of pride and belonging. Public recognition not only boosts morale and helps agency retention but also strengthens the agency’s culture of appreciation and respect.

This morning included recognition for recent promotions, including Sergeant Kaitlyn Spears, Corporal Bodie Johnson, Corporal Matthew Parker, Corporal Hunter Falconi, Correctional Corporal Megan High, and Senior Dispatcher Caitlin Jarrell. We also recognized several employees hired in recent months, including Correctional Officer Nathan Somraty, Sheriff Service Technician Jeannine McDaniel, Dispatcher Kaitlyn Herrera, and Sheriff Fleet Mechanic James Chapdelain.

Please join the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office in welcoming our newest employees and congratulating those promoted as they begin the next chapter of their law enforcement careers.
