Historic Angels Camp Home Destroyed In Overnight Fire (Updated)

Angels Camp, CA..The large old white house in the 400 Block of South Main was destroyed by fire overnight. According to TCU Command here were no injuries and Red Cross was not needed for displaced residents. The fire started before 2am and the cause of the fire is under investigation. On June 16, 2016 at approximately 2:31 a.m., units from the Angels Camp Fire Department, Altaville Melones Fire Protection District, Murphys Fire Protection District, San Andreas Fire Protection District, CALFIRE, Calaveras Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to a reported structure fire in the 400 block of S. Main Street.

Units arrived on scene to find a single family residence that was 75% engulfed in flames. All residents were able to exit the residence unharmed.

Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the residence with no extension to the surrounding vegetation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
