Californians pay roughly $2.00 more per gallon than the rest of the US by choice of the government. A bit of Groking the Californians on average purchase 300 gallons per capita for the entire state. Rural Californians average 750 gallons per year because they are rural. So the average rural Californian pays roughly $1,000 more every year than other Californians by choice from Sacramento. Even more striking is that they have to pay $1,500 more every year than those in other states. This is purely because Sacramento is punishing rural Californians partly because they tend to be conservative. Face it, Sacramento hates us!!
