Diane Elizabeth Day (neé Moreland) 1952 – 2026. November 7th Celebration of Life

Murphys, CA…With tender hearts, we wish to announce that Diane Elizabeth Day (neé Moreland), 73, passed away on Sunday, August 30th, 2026. Born on November 2, 1952, in upstate New York to parents Charlie & Harriet, the family moved west during her high school years. It was there, where she excitedly joined her school’s madrigal choir, where she would meet her husband, Tim.

Eventually they made their way to the Sierra foothills which they have called home for more than forty years. It was here that they raised their two daughters, Amy and Jennie, and built a rich and vibrant life – centered upon faith and deep, abiding friendships. Music was Diane’s great love. Throughout her life, she cultivated this passion by accompanying vocalists, instrumentalists, and large-scale musical ensembles, in addition to teaching piano lessons to students of all ages. She also loved tennis and hiking with the various women that populated her world.

She will be remembered for her fierce love and the youthful enthusiasm she brought to that which brought her joy. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, daughters, grandchildren – Zoe, Malakai and Sailor – as well as her older brother, Dwight.

With her has passed a bright and incandescent light. A service for Diane is being held on Saturday, November 7th, 11 am, at Vine & Branch Fellowship in Angels Camp, with a separate lunchtime reception to follow.
