Donna Louise Fippin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, educator, and friend, passed away on October 18, 2026, in Murphys, California, at age 80. A woman of remarkable strength, boundless energy, and adventurous spirit, Donna lived life to the fullest, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Novato, Donna graduated from Novato High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics with a minor in Mathematics from Sacramento State. She married the love of her life, Wayne Fippin, in 1977, beginning nearly five decades of family, friendship, and adventure.
A dedicated educator, Donna inspired generations of students as a Home Economics and Mathematics teacher and Future Homemakers of America leader at Bret Harte High School. She also helped establish the Ebbetts Pass Youth Soccer League, enriching opportunities for local youth.
Strong-willed and always ready for the next adventure, Donna was affectionately described as the “Energizer Bunny”. Whether hiking, golfing with friends, enjoying a spirited board game, or hosting family gatherings, she loved being in the middle of the action. An exceptional cook, gracious host, and wonderful conversationalist, Donna brought people together effortlessly.
Above all, Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; sons Brett (Seana) and Darren (Gerri); grandchildren Aidan, Ava, Mackenzie, and Corbin; and sister Rusty Barnett. She was preceded in death by Elsie and Dale Thomas.
Donna’s extraordinary spirit lives on through those she loved. May we honor her memory by gathering often, sharing good meals, laughing a little louder, and never missing an opportunity to embrace life’s adventures.
