San Andreas, CA…Meet Cinnamon (A061458), a female Alaskan Husky mix, about 7 years old and weighing 58 pounds. With her beautiful caramel-and-cream coat, striking ice-blue eyes, and dramatic natural eyeliner, Cinnamon is a dog who turns heads. Her distinctive facial features give her an expression that’s a little unusual and entirely unforgettable. But spend a few minutes with this sweet, affectionate girl, and you’ll discover that her greatest beauty comes from her gentle, loving personality.
Cinnamon recently arrived at Calaveras County Animal Services as one of 17 dogs taken in from a single location, including several mothers and their puppies. The dogs needed improved nutrition, attention, and socialization, and shelter staff and volunteers have been working to help them thrive. Cinnamon is one of the mothers, and she’s already showing what a wonderful companion she could be.
At approximately 7 years old, Cinnamon has a lovely combination of maturity and enthusiasm. She enjoys meeting people and other dogs, welcomes affection, and sometimes gently jumps or offers a paw to ask for more attention. She’s also demonstrated her motherly instincts, calmly correcting an overly exuberant puppy who got a little too excited in her face.
Cinnamon is attentive and cooperative on walks, staying connected with her handler while enjoying opportunities to investigate interesting scents along the way. She doesn’t pull hard on the leash, although she could benefit from continued training. She already knows how to sit for a treat and accepts her rewards with remarkably gentle manners. She’s also been keeping her kennel clean and appears to be housetrained.
There’s something especially appealing about a dog like Cinnamon. She’s past the demanding puppy stage but still has plenty of curiosity, affection, and enthusiasm for life. Her friendly nature and willingness to connect with people make her a promising companion for someone who appreciates a dog with both personality and heart.
After spending part of her life caring for puppies, Cinnamon deserves a chance to be the one who’s cherished and cared for. A comfortable home, regular walks, tasty treats, and a family to call her own would be a wonderful next chapter for this beautiful girl. Her looks may catch your eye, but her sweetness is what will capture your heart.
