Angels Camp, CA…On September 14th the Bret Harte FFA Chapter hosted their annual Welcome Back Picnic. Over 250 FFA members, parents, and FFA boosters were in attendance at the high school multipurpose room and theater. The Bret Harte FFA is lead this year by President- Maddie Walraven, Vice President -Izzy Herrin, Secretary -Emily Bolton, Treasurer-Kari Farwell, Reporter -Ashlynn Maddeaux, and Sentinel -Nick Ratkovich. This team strives to accomplish their motto this year “Dreams are made of Hard Work, Sweat and Determination.”

Before the meeting the FFA members and parents enjoyed a great meal sponsored and prepared by the Bret Harte FFA Boosters. Following dinner, the officer team conducted their first general meeting of the year and discussed many topics including the following upcoming events; Concours De Elegance, Delta Cal opening and closing competition, Lumberjack Days in West Point, and their annual Cow Pie Social event which will be held on October 9th at Kautz Ironstone Vineyards. While the FFA members were conducting their meeting the Bret Harte FFA Boosters hosted a parent informational meeting. The meeting concluded with Jocelyn Gomez winning the door prize. Overall it was a fun, informative and successful event.
