Long Beach, CA,…Top 10 Productions, Inc., producers of MISS CALIFORNIA USA®, have selected TONEATA MORGAN to compete in the upcoming state pageant to be held December 2-4, 2016 in Long Beach. The winner of MISS CALIFORNIA USA® will go on to compete at the national MISS USA® competition which is televised live on FOX.

Toneata grew up on Lake Tulloch, attending Copperopolis Elementary School and middle school in Angels Camp before moving to the Malibu area. A former Miss Malibu Teen USA 2014, Toneata Morgan is now 20 years old and a junior at a Los Angeles university majoring in Communications. Toneata acts and models, and can be seen in several reality TV series, including Beauty and the Geek Australia, Growing Up Hip Hop, and Master P’s Family Empire. She is also CEO and designer for her start-up action-wear company, All Legs, empowering women by helping them feel confident and beautiful. Toneata has many awards and honors, including being on the Dean’s List, 2016, at her college; Top 15% of her senior class in high school; and winner of the VFW 2014 Voice of Democracy Speech Contest, VFW District 8, California.

Giving back is extremely important to Toneata. She volunteers with CelebsWork, which works with celebrities and influencers to use the power of media in order to increase awareness and drive Los Angeles area communities toward positive social change. Additionally, she has been a member of the citizen volunteer Malibu Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), which provides assistance for emergency disaster response, like earthquakes and fires. Plus, in honor of her late father, a Purple Heart veteran, she contributes to the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps veterans.

Why is Toneata competing to represent our state? She replies, “California is my home. It has the best climate, beautiful scenery, and offers unlimited opportunity for those who follow their dreams. Where else can you go snowboarding and surfing the same day? I would be honored to represent our state as Miss California USA 2017.”

MISS CALIFORNIA USA® will be held at the Terrace Theater December 2-4, 2016 with the Westin Long Beach as the host hotel. The pageant will put on three shows (two preliminary competitions and one finals competition) that will be ticketed events open to the public.
