Murphys, CA…Kathryn Elizabeth Ferrell, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away on 9/18/2016. During her short stay in the hospital, her family gathered around her to pray, sing her favorite songs, and share beautiful memories as she let go of her beloved husband’s hand and placed it in the hand of Jesus.

She was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania to William Bauman and Alice Thompson Bauman. Her family moved to Santa Monica, CA and then to Redding, CA where Kathryn graduated from Shasta Union High School. While there, she met the love of her life, Bill Ferrell and they married in February, 1947. They began their family in Redding and had three children, Rondal, Rhonda, and Lynn. The family moved to Greenfield, CA before settling in Sonora, CA where they spent 37 years. For the past 15 years, Bill and Kathryn have lived in Murphys, CA.
Kathryn dedicated her life to taking care of her family and serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She and Bill were often seen walking around town holding hands with one another. They spent 70 years of their life together.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, William Ferrell, her son, Ron Ferrell, her daughters, Rhonda Henson (Ray) and Lynn Clevenger (Philip), five grandchildren, Matthew, Jason, Peter, Laura, Audrianna, and three great grandchildren, Miranda, Cole, and Tess.
Whether you knew her as Kathryn, Mom, Gram, or Auntie, you knew that she loved her family and prayed for them daily. She will be missed by all.
Angel’s Memorial is handling the arrangements. A service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 1 at Faith Lutheran Church in Murphys, 65 Mitchler Street. A reception will follow immediately at the Senior Center which is located on the church property. It would be an honor to have you join us as we celebrate the life of our beloved Kathryn.
